Galebreaker products are at the forefront in natural ventilation and protection of Agricultural Buildings. Many years of experience, have enabled Galebreaker to develop a range of environmental weather screen systems which provide ideal housing conditions for healthy, productive livestock. Galebreaker systems provide variable ventilation, protection and light for the ideal environment. They also meet legislation requirements for keeping birds out of crop storage buildings and for milking parlours.

Guarantee ~ a commitment to our customer.
All Galebreaker systems (with the exception of VVS) have been designed and tested to British Standard EN13241 with a resistance to wind load rating of class 5. Tried and tested in the harshest weather conditions, our products are fully guaranteed for two years, followed by an eight year graduated guarantee. Please not that, in extreme weather conditions, some moisture may penetrate a mesh material.

As a result of the RSPSA's Freedom Food Welfare Initiative, chicken growers are being asked to allow a significant proportion of natural light to enter the poultry building. Adding windows is the simplest and most cost effective solution, but it presents a problem when the light needs to be blocked for catching or settling chicks.

PVC Strip An active system designed to improve ventilation in livestock buildings by providing an exit path for warm stale air while, at the same time, improving light transmission into the building.
Galebreaker has introduced a new ventilation product which can be fitted to the roof of new or existing buildings. Light ridge significantly improves ventilation to portal framed livestock buildings by providing an exit path for warm stale air. The stale air is replaced by fresh air which is drawn into the building through open sides. The side opening can be achieved by using a side curtain such as VVS or by the occasional removal of Bayscreens which have been fitted to the side of the building.
Light ridge has the additional advantage of providing improved light transmission into the building through the 10mm translucent polycarbonate material which makes up the top of the ridge.
The inclusion of tailor-made wind plates make the system 'active'. Air naturally flows along the roof line and when it hits the wind plates, it causes a venturi effect which 'pulls' the stale air through the ventilation slots of the Light Ridge and out of the building. The specially designed wind plates also form a barrier to stop rain and snow entering the building.

How To Measure for Galebreakers
     

Measure gap A i.e the daylight gap between the uprights. If the measurement falls between the Galebreaker sizes choose the next size up as widths can be adjusted.

Measure gap B i.e the daylight gap and choose the nearest size up to suit.

Further Information
The standard Galebreaker material has a permeability of approximately 25% and is designed to maximise weather protection whilst maintaining ventilation. Moisture may penetrate mesh materials during extreme weather conditions.
A high performance material is available throughout the product range for more exposed locations. This mesh has a permeability of approximately 10% and will help to further reduce moisture penetration.
Unless other wise specified, standard material will always be supplied.
Prices include standard fittings for steel.
The imperial equivalent measurements given in brackets are intended as a guide only.

 
Delivery
For orders valued at £350 or more ex vat, DELIVERY IS FREE on UK mainland.
Orders valued at less than £350 ex vat add £10.00 p&p.
Surcharge for islands is based on weight (kgs), or minimum £40.00.
