POLARIS? Fifty one years ago
when Polaris began, three men had a dream, they were
rural men who had a dream. Brought up in Rosso, North
Minnesota, 5 miles from the Canadian border, summer
months were delightful, warm and dry, but the winters
are harsh, and no means of transport to go over the
fields when they are covered in 4ft depths and more of
snow.
1954 these men created the first
Snowmobile, a vehicle that could transport people across
fields and terrain covered in deep snow, a true all
terrain invention.
1954 was the true birth of All Terrain
Vehicles, and the people of North America needed
transport 12 months of the year. And through their need,
and the innovation of POLARIS as a company, in 1984 the
POLARIS all terrain vehicle on wheels was born.
